Belt Bags & PokesThe definitive belt bag of the western era was
the cap pouch. While we make period-correct, double and single flapped
cap pouches, most people find them too small for staging rounds
for Cowboy Action Shooting or as accessory bags for first aid kits,
spare ammo, cell phones or keys.. Our small belt bags are large
enough to carry 20 .45 caliber rounds easily and come in both round
and rectangular styles. Our large bags are about an inch taller
and wider and can be used to hide keys, cell phones, etc. We offer
3 methods of attaching these pouches to your belt: the fixed belt
loop style which must be threaded on and off the belt, a snap-on
belt loop style which is designed to stay snapped no matter how
strenuous the activity yet be easily removed or added to a belt
and thirdly, a style equipped with a tail. This latter style of
pouch is designed so that the tail slips behind a belt (or a skirt
or britch’s waistband). It can be easily slipped off so that contents
can be dumped on a table or other surface as needs demand.
Prospector’s PokeThese pokes or drawstring bags are based on actual bags of the gold rush era and would have been correct across North America from Sutter’s Mill to the Yukon.. They are lightweight, built so they open wide yet fold flat, perfect for tucking behind a belt or waistband or down your boot after staging your rounds. We make them in 2 sizes. The small ones make marvelous ball bags for flintlock or cap’n’ball or for holding ear plugs and other small items. The larger size is big enough to stage a full set of cowboy action rounds out of. Those in the pictures are, left to right, black kangaroo (shown in side view to show capacity), saddle tan kangaroo, natural goat and chocolate kangaroo. (We also make these in British tan (a very rich, deep orange-brown) and, when we can get it, nutmeg and red.) &, yes, for those with concerns about period-correct materials, kangaroo was probably not plentiful across the west. We have chosen it because it has the smooth, good looks of fine calf skin with greatly superior strength. |
