Collars

Leather collar actually existed and were listed in a number of saddlery catalogues at the beginning of the 20th century. They came in a range of styles. Some were plain while the majority were stamped or carved. We offer ours in a variety of colors and patterns. Sizes are Small (14 ˝”), Medium (15 ˝”), Large (16 ˝”) Extra Large (17 ˝) and XX-Large (18 ˝”). These are comparable to the standard collars on Wah Maker shirts. (Please note that other shirts may vary!) If you need a special size, please contact us.

Carved Collars

Many of the leather collars at the turn of the century were carved. We offer period-correct patterns in a variety of colors. Shown here, top to bottom are : Denver Floral (in British Tan with black background) and California Leaf (in Black). We also have a “California Leaf and Bud”, not shown and, by request, we can match most of our carved rigs up with carved collars.

Checker Stamped Collars

At the turn of the century, a new breed of stamping tools came on the horizon. These were called “checker” pattern stamps or checker stamps. Today we know them as “geometrics”. Most of these stamps were square, but some, like the basketstamp were rectangular. Our checker stamp designs are period correct. Shown top to bottom: Basketstamp & Hamley.

Stamped and Spotted Collars

We offer collars with stamped designs to match or mix with any outfit. These are but a few samples.
