Our concept of the holster varies from most other makers. While we offer a large number of period correct gun leather, we also understand the need to build all of our rigs to suit the ergonomic requirements of today's shooters. Our specialty lies in providing the correct rake and drop and in tailoring "ease of draw" to your specific activity or wishes. In short, the shooter is not limited either functionally or aesthetically and we have no problem with you taking the details from one or more holsters and applying them to another. Olzer HolsterAntique Brown Olzer . This is a slightly-modified version of a holster made by the Olzer Saddle company of Gillette, Wyoming circa 1905 – 1910. It is an extremely high-riding holster with a rather wide skirt and a plugged toe. The original skirt was slightly wider at the main seam and the loop was more circular with straight bands rather than the beefier (and stronger) cigar band style shown here. As with the original, it is cut high on the cylinder and has a deep trigger recurve. Running S border with “daisy” rosette on loop. Open Top Derringer HolsterVaried Open Top Derringer Holster. Similar in styling to our slim jims, these holsters offer easy access to the derringer. We make the belt loops to fit a 3” wide belt as standard, but will happily tailor belt loops for narrower gun belts or standard pants waistbelts. We can match these up to any of our gun rigs and holsters so have a look at those & then tell us what you want! It’s also no problem to match up your existing patterns. Outlaw HolsterLight Mahogany Modified Duke. This holster is identical to our standard Duke halfbreed with the exception that it is cut so that the trigger guard is fully exposed. Furstnow with vortex loop. This holster has been raked 25 degrees muzzle forward and is cut so that the bottom of the grip frame is level with the top of the belt. Phil’s HolsterAntique Brown Old California Slim Jim. This is a period-correct style for the early frontier. The heavily-contoured pouch was favored from the late 1840’s on through to the mid ‘70’s where it was replaced by slim jims with less contouring and the trendy new Mexican loop types. Old California with a Running S and repeating 9’s border. The California slim jims are traditionally built with a high ride and an additional recurve in the back. This holster was modified so that the rear trigger recurve was eliminated & the grips lowered, facilitating an easier draw for a long-barreled weapon. Pocono Kid’s HolsterLight mahogany Pocono Kid slim jim. While the pouch style on this holster is typical for late 1800’s slim jims, the loop is not. It has a serious “drop” in it to facilitate an easy draw. The trigger guard area has been cut down front and back to fully expose the trigger. This cut was prominent in holsters built by the Heiser saddlery in the early 1900’s. Chain & four-point star This holster has a very slight 10 degree muzzle forward rake. Roy’s HolsterGolden Oak with Dark Brown Border Band B Western. This is a holster that harkens you back to the Hollywood B Western. It has a wide skirt, a buckle loop & a stitched through toe. The trigger is fully exposed and it is cut low on the cylinder to get the drop on desperados of all persuasions. Roy. The dark band around the border of spots is accurate to the time period and to the spirit of the B Western. For the sake of economy, nickel spots were used rather than the original sterling. SC Gallup HolsterAntique Brown SC Gallup. This is a faithful recreation of a holster type made by the SC Gallup company. This holster, with it’s stitched-through toe and integral two loop style would have appeared in the late 1890’s and would have remained popular well into 1930 or ’40. The edge lacing on the main seam was particularly popular with Colorado cowboys. Colorado floral carving pattern with repeating 9’s border White goat rawhide whiplacing on main seam only. The maker’s mark is on the front of the holster at the request of the customer. Shanghai Bob’s HolsterHavana Shanghai Bob. This is an open-toed holster with an elegantly-contoured skirt. It has no loop. Historically, House of Heiser (Colorado) made holsters in this manner to allow the pattern on a holster pouch to stand alone. The holster is carefully stitched from the back so that it will fit snugly on the belt yet allow movement along the length of the belt for seasonal clothing changes, weight loss or gain. etc. Chinese Dragon The holster is raked 25 degrees muzzle forward. |
