The belt is the heart of a gun rig. Not only must it support & maintain the position of the holster and gun but it must be designed for all-day comfort and longevity. Our gun belts are designed and made just that way. In addition, we offer the widest selection of belt styles, tooling patterns and cartridge loop placement and arrangement. While we specialize in period correct gun leather we also offer services for those with preferences for more fanciful or modern styles. Mark Flint’s RigLight Mahogany Soft Taper Double Shuffle Modified Brimstone. This holster’s pouch is identical to the HF Brimstone holster with the exception that it is cut lower on the cylinder and with a fully-exposed trigger guard. Double Shuffle The holster is canted 15 degrees with the bottom of the grip frame positioned approximately ½” above the belt top. The extra-fancy hammer thong is formed from braided kangaroo lace with a tassel of brown horsehair capped with a pineapple knot. Mattie Hays’ RigBurgundy Taper Spotted target with Hamley center 10 single 12 gauge loops centered on belt with 5, .38 loops to each side. Old California slim jim. This is a heavily contoured slim jim of the California style that would have been popular from the late 1840’s well into the 1870’s. The spot pattern denotes a slightly later period as does the geometric pattern centered between the borders. Spotted target with Hamley geometric center Holster is raked 25 degrees muzzle forward. Spots are sunburst-patterned antique nickel. Meanea RigAntique brown Money Belt Ocean Wave & Half Berry border Custom sterling Brands buckle (sorry, buckle is no longer available) Another of the classic Cheyenne holsters with double Mexican loop style integral to the skirt, this one is not quite as high on the cylinder as the Collins Brother holster and the skirt is just a tad shorter. It has a plugged toe. Meanea Poinsetta The original Meanea holster has straight loops. These were contoured to cigar band style. Knife sheath to match. Oak Leaf RigAntique Brown Ranger Full Oak Leaf carved Great Plains: a skirted, open-toed holster with a traditional ride. The pouch is of the fairly amorphous style typical of early 20th century holsters. Cigar band loop. Full Oak Leaf carved This holster has been brought up high on the cylinder at the customer’s request. Initial on loop. Outlaw Gun RigLight Mahogany Taper Furstnow Modified Duke. This holster is identical in cut with our standard Duke halfbreed holster with the exception that the trigger guard is fully cut away. Furstnow with vortex loop. This holster has a 25 degree muzzle forward rake and is positioned so the bottom of the grip frame lies at the top of the belt line. Phil’s Gun RigAntique Brown Money Running S border Small sterling star conchos were added to the ends of the cartridge loops and as the reinforcement rivet on the billet. The buckle was provided by the customer. Old California Slim Jim. This is a period-correct style for the early frontier. The heavily-contoured pouch was favored from the late 1840’s on through to the mid ‘70’s where it was replaced by either slim jims with less contouring or the more fashionable Mexican loop types. Old California with a Running S and repeating 9’s border. The California slim jims are traditionally built with a high ride and an additional recurve in the back. On this holster the rear trigger recurve is eliminated & the grips are lowered, facilitating an easier draw for a long-barreled weapon. Pocono KidLight Mahogany 2 ½” Soft taper belt. A soft, body-conforming belt. Chain & four-point star 3, 2-shell loops for 12 gauge in center of belt with 3, .38 loops to each side Pocono Kid slim jim. While the pouch style on this holster is typical for late 1800’s slim jims, the loop is not. It has a serious “drop” in it to facilitate an easy draw. The trigger guard area has been cut down front and back to fully expose the trigger. This cut was prominent in holsters built by the Heiser saddlery in the early 1900’s. Chain & four-point star This holster has a very slight 10 degree muzzle forward rake. Roy’s Gun RigGolden Oak with Dark Brown Border Band and Nickel Spots Ranger Roy While it is usual for this type of holster to appear on a “drop loop” or buscadero-style belt, this customer chose a straight-cut gunfighter-type set up for his rig. B Western. This is a holster that harkens you back to the Hollywood B Western. It has a wide skirt, a buckle loop & a stitched through toe. The trigger is fully exposed and it is cut low on the cylinder to get the drop on desperados of all persuasions. Roy. The dark band around the border of spots is accurate to the time period and to the spirit of the B Western. For the sake of economy, nickel spots were used rather than the original sterling. Sassy Teton Lady’s Gun RigBlack Taper Belt Teton Lady embellished with antique nickel starburst spots The cartridge loops on this belt are a combination of shotgun and pistol loops. Duke. This holster is of the halfbreed style. Teton Lady embellished with antique nickel starburst spots. Vortex pattern with spot border on loop. |
